Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 15, 2026
I Dream Stuff ("we," "us," "the app") is a dream journal, lucid-dreaming trainer, and quiet network for dreamers. Your dreams are deeply personal, and we treat them that way. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Age: I Dream Stuff is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
What we collect
- Account information: your email address (to sign you in) and your date of birth (used only to confirm you are 18+).
- Your profile: a chosen handle (an alias — not your real name), an optional sun sign, and, if you enable notifications, a device push token.
- Your dreams: the journal entries you write — the dream text, places, people, objects, and phrases you record, and whether you became lucid.
- Your proof phrase: a private phrase you choose for the lucid-dreaming experiment. It is stored separately and is never shown to anyone, including other dreamers.
How we use it
- To run the app — save your journal, schedule your alarm and the Lucid Nudge, and personalize your experience.
- Dream interpretations. To generate readings of a dream, we send that dream's text to our AI provider, Anthropic (Claude). We do not send your name, email, or handle with it — only the dream content. Anthropic does not use this content to train its models, and retains it only briefly for safety purposes.
- Resonance & the Confluence. We compare dreams across the community to find overlaps. When your dream resonates with another dreamer's, only anonymized details are shared — overlapping keywords, a shared scent or place, the date, and your handle. Your raw dream text and your proof phrase are never shared this way.
We do not sell your data. We do not run ads. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing.
Who we share it with
- Service providers who help us run the app: Supabase (secure database & authentication), Anthropic (AI interpretations), and Expo (push notifications). They process data only on our behalf.
- Other dreamers — only the anonymized resonance details above, any short excerpt you explicitly choose to reveal in a match, and messages you choose to send.
- Legal — if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
How we protect it
Every account's data is isolated at the database level, so one user cannot access another's dreams, profile, or messages. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Sensitive keys live only on our servers, never in the app on your phone.
Keeping & deleting your data
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings), which permanently and irreversibly erases your dreams, profile, proof phrase, and matches. You may also email us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/EEA under GDPR, or California under CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, contact us at the address below and we'll respond.
Where your data is processed
Our providers (Supabase, Anthropic) process data in the United States. By using the app, you understand your information may be processed there.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
